Abraham Lincoln's Birthday Open Thread

Random post for anybody who wants to wish #16 a happy birthday (he would have been 198 years old today), talk about Irish freedom fighters, or anything else that is on their minds.
So... have at it!

Abraham Lincoln rocks! If I had to choose the greatest president we've ever had he'd probably be it.

Happy Valentines Everyone (Belated)! Been busy...but Happy Birthday Abe.

And speaking of Irish Liberators from tyranny...well...not total tyranny. Some of my very close friends and mentors are from Britian, but I'm glad there's someplace still free. Scottland sorta lost that place thanks to James I. No offense, I don't like that guy. He destroyed my clan. Grr..... >:[

Take care all! :P

A Isaac a chara, I don't remember talking about Irish liberators from British tierany ... but I'm more than happy to if it is a popular topic with yourself :). Just in case you wanted to know, James the second was a real pain in the ... ... too. He tried to lead the Irish in the battle of the Boyne to get rid of the Brits, a great thing, but he was so cocky and stupid that he submitted to fighting on the terms of the enemy, a real no-no to be sure. This foolishness earned him a nasty nickname among the Irish for getting their hopes up like that and then screwing up majorly. The same mistake was made by "Bonny Prince Charlie" (can't stand him) at the battle of Caladan, costing the Highlanders their freedom, their dignity, their land and their language ultimately.

A Elise, if I had to wear the same socks all the time they'd be black. You are so grand at coming up with random questions.

Sure and I'm not a bit mad. The power of anonomousness can be an effective tool for bringing awareness to social injustice. However absolute power corrupts absolutely and sometimes it can backfire so just be careful in general. Having said that, I don't think you stepped over the line and I appreciate your bravery in bringing this issue to light for those whom it hasn't occurred to.

A Dheborah a chara,

Sure and you are starting to sound like me with your "for shame". :) However cornfussed is your own originality :)

Here's my best attempt of explaining the job situation. Trek, the company that was allied with Nike for biking clothing design has parted ways with Nike, meaning that Bryan's job will be illiminated so he needs to find either something else with Nike or find something somewhare else. That is why.
