Dude, college is so hard core. But the cool things is that my classes are going better than I thought. Continue to pray for me. The entire Freshman class knows who I am (can't keep a low profile I guess) and I've got a nickname already. The Stud. Guess that's not a good one to have if I'm trying to be a pastor. Also I've found out that you don't want to be majoring in Youth Ministries. They say usually youth pastors are ones with shady backgrounds. Just FYI. Take care y'all!

I'm so excited! and scared!
I get to visit the school on the 11th. I'm taking the train down to my grandparents(in philomath, which is near corvallis,which is where OSU is) on the 10th. My grandparents are going to take my friend and I to visit the school!
I am so excited! Is it just me or did I just say that. Oh well.

So, I've played RISK and AXIS & ALLIES for the past three nights and I've won all the times I've played. Then when I play pool and foozball, I get slaughtered. Why is that?

Possibly because you're more of the intellectual sort, I think, I don't actually know how to play resk and stuff and I wouldn't be knowing what it entails, but I assume that since its a computer game it requires strategy. This means that I'd be dreadful at it because I can't even play simple strategy games without substantial hints from my fellow players.

It's a testasterone frenzy, haha Debwah. I like playing pool with Jennifer because when we play there aren't any rules to confuse me and we don't keep track of points, we just try to hit the white ball and get those other balls in the holes. I like foosball when its 2 on 2. See, my lack of knowledge of how to play risk is proven :), I was thinking it was on the computer.

Last night we watched the Patriot and the girls watching would not shut up at the important parts (aka the battle strategy). Then we watched A Walk to Remember and the guys kept talking at the "important" parts (aka the romantic parts). I believe this reason is because the opposite side feels nervous at these times. I think its cool God wired us this way. What do you think?

Sure and I'm hard-core for battle strategy. In fact if anyone wants to read a story whare there is lots of really great battles with really clever hard-core strategy pick up "The King's Swift Rider". It is supposed to happen 10 years after Braveheart and the main charactor is a boy of 16 (at the start) who grows into a man as he assists the Scottish army in their quest for freedom from the English. Really nifty book and enjoyable for strategy folk, funny that consider myself one, even though I myself can't strategize. I like the romantic stuff too, but my definition of romantic may be slightly ascue from others. I think that Braveheart is the most romantic movie I've ever seen, as well as being hard core with the war and fighting.

That poem is very moving. It hits a chord with me because at times I can almost see my grandfather. When God calls us to a higher calling, we know it is for a greater good. Many times we wonder why and how could God allow this to happen. Unfortunately we can't see the great tapestry God is making with all our lives woven together.

How's it going group at MBC? I hope you are all doing well and God has been blessing you all. here at Corban I have been learning so much, and it is exciting to see all that is going on. God has taught me a lot from working with all sorts of people, primarily about how we are to worship. I still can't say I'm used to having people shout "Amen!" and "Yes, Lord" when I pray. It's weird still, but it's between God and the person.
I got to bed at 9:30 last night and let me tell you, it was amazing! I'm pretty sure Abigail has kept you updated on my college excursions, such as me being bald and recieving a part in the play, Esther the Hebrew Queen. I get to be king Xerxes and I want to assure people this is not type-cast. If it were, everything I taught you this summer goes out the window. Isn't it great to be a villan? I'm on it! I am sure that no matter what God is going to use you in some amazing ways... Sometimes you may not even realize that God is using you! He is amazing at how he works in us and through us.
I have a challenge for you guys... As there has been many different shootings around the US these past few days/weeks, I shallenge you guys to really put to practice the six challenges and what I taught a few weeks ago. It is not sercurity that is going to cure the violence it is love and kindness. Don't just think about it DO IT!!! It is NOT going to be easy. But that is just life.

How is college life??? How is the weather at the beach? What is happening with the whole job thing?
Something very exciting has happened..... I GOT A 'REAL' JOB!!!!!!!
As many of you might know I have been looking for a job and then last week sometime I went online and filled out a Mervyn's application and they called me in for an interview on Monday and they told me at the end of the interview that I got the job... I am not sure when I start but it looks like I can still come on Wednesday nights!
I'M SO EXCITED!!!!
Pray though that I can go on the retreat though. I am not sure what my schedule is going to be.
Anyway I am going to go now. See you guys tonight (well most of you)

I just finished my first two homework assignments. It is so weird doing homework.

That is so exciting Jess, it's great that you have a regular, go to work and come home job! Mervins is a good store I get shoes there. I hope it is just what you needed.
Jessica, I'm glad things are going well for you. I hope you like it there and that you get to go down to the sand and watch the sea, a bit cold to swim in it now that the season is over but if you tried I'd be really proud of you. :)
Parents can be difficult at times, the way they get mad over the littlest things, but I suppose the thing to realize is that they have a lot of responsability and its tough to keep track of work, the household chores, the kids, their personal matters etc.

They are hiring for the woodvillage one not the one by my house. The hiring thing/interview is on Tuesday and that is when I have my training for Mervyns. Hey dudes! Long time no-write. To debwah I have to say,

LOL. So...yeh...
I figure you guys are all on retreat right now (me and my timing) but I thought I'd give you something to write about later.
The play I'm in (Esther) is going well and it's really cool. The audience will be up onstage with us. I know it's a long drive, but if you can come, it'll be sweet. The one thing I have a problem with is the I have to go from calm to angry in .0000000034 seconds. Crazy!
I don't know if you've noticed, but being angry just doesn't work for me like that. I'm too calm and tolerant. I guess that's good for a Christian. Bad for acting. With nothing to draw on, my acting is harder. Weird I know. I'm taking lessons from Mr. Rage right now.
Anyhow...hope you all have a great time. The Molla Retreat is where I first learned to really love the Jr. High group, so I hope you learn a lot and are blessed abundantly.

That story was quite well written a Dheborah a chara, and it was rather random in content so it works well here. It has really poignant morals to it as well. I just wanted to tell the all of you that I'm very proud of you. You did so well with that little experiment on Sun. morning at the retreat.
I want everyone to know that I care about all of you and I want you to feel as safe and comfortable with the group and the staff as possible. If anyone is having any trouble of any sort, big or small, you can totally talk to anyone on staff about it. As honored as I feel when you guys confide in me, even more important to me as that you talk to someone, and if it isn't me then that is fine just so long as it is someone.
